Self love is a concept that is mostly new to our society especially to the women. It is something that our grandmothers and even mothers seldom thought of. We are a lucky generation that we are now making loving oneself a top priority that is very important for our mental health. It is essential that we take care of ourselves first before we turn to others. If you are not happy yourself, then that unhappiness will reflect on every person you interact with. You have all heard of the usual ways to show self love, alone time, spa day and the sort. Now, look at some other ways that you can show some love to the tired soul in you.
1. Create Art

Find a quite spot in your home or go to a cafe, park or library and bring with you some colours and blank papers. Take them out and start drawing. You don't have to be a professional artist to create an art piece, create it for yourself. Art is personal to each person. It speaks different to different people. Use colours to express your thoughts and emotions. This will help you in calming your mind and lifting up your spirits.
2. Gift Yourself Something

You have worked hard. Own it and reward it. As humans sometimes it becomes a necessity to receive a praise for the work we do, in order to continue. As contrary to the norm, you can reward yourself. Appreciate the effort you put in your life daily and gift yourself something nice that will bring you happiness. You don't have to ever feel guilty leaving your child with their dad for some time. You are not the only parent here. Talk to your partner and make them understand that you need a couple of day or even a single day off. Use this time to go shopping with your girls, a weekend girls only trip or a spa day. 5. An Hour a Day

Wake up an hour earlier than anyone else in the morning or find an hour in anytime of the day when you are sure that you won't be interrupted by anyone. Now, use this time to do the thing that you love, that makes you happy. It can be painting, practicing your dance moves, reading, writing, journaling, trying new recipes, gardening, watching your favorite show, basically anything that make you feel like you have done something that means something to you on a personal level. Every single day make it a ritual you follow without fail. Just dedicate this one hour to your happiness every single day religiously.
